Ethics Policy

The ethical commitments behind Coingsty's coverage: independence from sponsors, no disguised buy or sell signals, and a culture of visible correction.

By Editorial Team 3 min read Updated Aug 11, 2026

This page sets out the values behind everything Coingsty publishes. Where our editorial policy explains process, this page explains the principles that process exists to protect.

Independence from anyone we cover

We do not accept payment to promote a specific asset, project or exchange, and we do not let advertisers, sponsors or affiliate partners direct our coverage. A commercial relationship can buy a labelled placement; it cannot buy a favorable opinion. See our sponsored content disclosure and affiliate disclosure for how that separation works in practice, including the technical and labelling steps we take.

No disguised buy or sell calls

Coingsty does not issue price targets or tell readers what to buy or sell. Our signature editorial device, the Wire Stamp, is a timestamp showing when a page was published and last checked — nothing more. We hold it, and every other recurring device on the site, to the same rule: it must never function as a hidden bullish or bearish signal. Where we discuss risk and upside for an asset, we aim to give both sides a fair hearing rather than lean one way while claiming balance, and we say plainly when a claim is speculative rather than dressing it up as analysis.

Honest sourcing

We attribute data and claims to their source and are explicit about a source’s limits — for example, that a sentiment index measures sentiment, not the future. If a claim cannot be reasonably supported by a source we trust, we do not publish it, even if it would make for a better headline.

No fabrication

We do not invent statistics, dates, quotes, partnerships or credentials. Where we do not have a verified figure, we link to a live data page instead of guessing, or we say plainly that we do not know. We do not fabricate author identities, bios or headshots; unattributed or collectively produced work is published under the Coingsty Editorial Team rather than under a persona invented to make a page look more credible.

Conflicts of interest

Contributors and editors are expected to disclose any material conflict of interest — a paid relationship, a token holding, employment at a project under discussion — before a piece involving that conflict is published. Undisclosed conflicts are treated as a serious editorial failure, not a technicality, and are corrected as soon as we become aware of them.

Corrections as normal, not exceptional

Getting things wrong occasionally is part of covering a fast-moving market. Hiding it is not acceptable. When we confirm an error, we correct it and we do not pretend it never happened. You can flag anything you think is wrong through our contact page, and we treat a well-founded correction request as useful, not as an attack on the site.

Respect for readers

We assume readers are capable of making their own decisions if they have accurate information and honest framing. We do not use manufactured urgency, fear or hype to drive clicks, and we do not dress up promotion as reporting anywhere on the site, sponsored section or not.

Accountability

These commitments apply to every page on Coingsty, paid or unpaid, data page or guide. If you believe we have fallen short of them anywhere on the site, tell us at editorial@coingsty.com and we will look into it.
