This policy explains how Coingsty sources information, reviews content and keeps its editorial judgment independent of commercial pressure. It applies to every page we publish, from market data to guides and glossary entries.
Sourcing and data
We aggregate crypto market data from public exchange feeds and established, keyless data providers rather than a single proprietary terminal, and sentiment data such as the Fear & Greed Index from alternative.me. We do not operate an exchange or a price oracle, so the figures we display are aggregated and cached for performance and may differ slightly from a live exchange screen. Our methodology page defines exactly how each metric on the site is calculated.
Standards we hold content to
Every page should be accurate, clearly sourced, free of hype and free of disguised advice. Concretely: we name where data comes from; we define technical terms in plain language, linking to the glossary where useful; we avoid price predictions and price targets; and we distinguish what is measured from what is interpreted. A page that cannot meet these standards gets reworked before it is published, not after.
Data versus analysis
Market data and editorial analysis are different things and we treat them differently. Data — prices, market caps, volumes, flows — is reported as sourced and labelled as informational. Analysis, where we explain a mechanism or put a number in context, is written as explanation, never as a recommendation to act.
The Wire Stamp: our transparency device
Coingsty’s signature editorial device is the Wire Stamp: a dateline on every article and data page showing when it was published and how recently it was checked (“updated 12m ago,” for example). It is a freshness and accountability marker, and we hold it to one hard rule: it is never a disguised buy or sell signal. It does not lean bullish or bearish, it does not carry a hidden score, and it cannot be bought by an advertiser. Its only job is to tell you how current the information in front of you is.
Independence and conflicts of interest
We are not a broker, exchange or investment adviser, and we do not accept payment to promote a specific asset. Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate relationships are kept separate from editorial decisions: a commercial partner cannot buy coverage, dictate how an asset is described, or influence which topics we cover. Sponsored content is labelled as such, carries rel=sponsored on outbound links, and is excluded from our news feed and news-specific schema — details are in our sponsored content disclosure.
Fact-checking and review
Before publication, an editor checks factual claims, confirms data is labelled and dated honestly, and verifies that definitions match how the term is used elsewhere on the site. Content is AI-assisted in its drafting, but a human editor is accountable for every page that goes live; nothing is published solely on the basis of an automated draft.
Authorship
We do not fabricate individual bylines, bios or credentials. Content is published under the Coingsty Editorial Team. Where an author profile exists, it will describe that person’s real role and scope honestly rather than inventing credentials to lend a page false authority.
Scope and limits
We publish market data, definitions and explanations. We do not publish individual investment recommendations, price targets or forecasts. Nothing on Coingsty is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and none of it is personalized to your circumstances; see our disclaimer.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it. If you spot an error, tell us via our contact page, and we will review and correct confirmed mistakes promptly.
