Coingsty publishes crypto-only market data, guides and explainers, and we occasionally work with outside contributors who can add real expertise. This page covers what we are looking for and how the process works.
What we publish
- Guides and explainers. Clear, well-sourced pieces that help readers understand a mechanism — how staking yields are calculated, what a stablecoin’s reserve attestation actually shows, how to read on-chain flow data.
- Glossary entries. Tight, accurate definitions of crypto terms, written in plain language, with a real example rather than a vague one.
- Data-driven analysis. Pieces that put a data point in context without turning into a price call.
What we do not publish
We do not publish price predictions, price targets, “next 100x” framing, disguised promotion of a specific token or project, or personalized investment advice. If a pitch reads like a pitch deck or a pump piece, it will not run here, regardless of who sent it or how the request is framed.
Standards every submission has to meet
- Claims are sourced. If a number cannot be verified against a reputable public source, it is cut rather than kept, even if it makes the piece less punchy.
- Terms are defined in plain language on first use.
- Nothing is framed as advice to buy or sell, directly or by implication, including through tone or selective emphasis.
- Any conflict of interest — a token holding, a paid relationship, employment at a project you are writing about — is disclosed to us before publication, not after.
Review and editing
Every contribution is fact-checked and edited against our editorial policy before it goes live. We may ask for sourcing, tighten claims, cut anything that reads like promotion, or decline a piece that does not meet our standards after review. Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial relationship with the contributor; see our ethics policy for the principle behind that separation.
Byline policy
We do not publish invented author bios, headshots or credentials, for contributors or for staff. Contributed work is reviewed and, where appropriate, published under the Coingsty Editorial Team rather than an unverified individual byline, so that every claim on the page is backed by our editorial process rather than a name we cannot vouch for. If we ever add named, verified contributor profiles, they will describe real roles and real scope of coverage, not fabricated credentials.
Compensation
We do not promise a specific rate on this page because terms vary by piece, format and contributor, and we would rather discuss specifics directly than post a number we cannot guarantee for every case. If compensation applies to your contribution, we will agree it with you in writing before you start.
What good pitches look like
The pitches that move fastest through review are specific: they name the mechanism or metric being explained, point to a real public source for the core claim, and are honest about what the piece will not cover. Vague pitches that promise a “deep dive” without a concrete angle usually need a round of clarifying questions before we can say yes.
